After the Lichtenburg Sleepout that was recently held to collect items for needy organisations in the town and surrounding areas, the items have been distributed to the respective organisations. NWK also participated.
Ikateleng (Tswana for empower yourself) is a program that the North West University presented for the 28th time this year and also one of the largest single projects under the Corporate Social Responsibility banner of NWK. This year NWK has been involved with the project for the sixth year. The program was hosted in Lichtenburg for the third year at J.M. Lekgetha Commercial School Boikhutso.
NWK's beginner farmer study group had their year end function on Thursday 13 October near Lichtenburg. The winners in the three categories were Hanru Brand (Best Maize), Willie Roode (Best Sunflower) and Douw van der Walt (Best Admin). With them on the photo is Hansie Kruger (new chairperson).

This was revealed by NWK’s General manager Grain, Jerry Maritz, during the Agri North West Congress in Lichtenburg earlier this month. He says they looked into data from the last ten years, comparing several variables:

NWK Liquid Fertiliser's annual information day was held at NWK's Training Centre in Lichtenburg on Thursday 18 August. The theme was "Best practices for dry cycle years."
Martiens du Plessis, manager of NWK Precision farming gave valuable practical tips for correct cultivation and savings after which Dr Louis Ehlers of Omnia discussed the improvement of water efficiency. Jan du Toit, agronomist at NWK Fertiliser Marketing, focused on fertilisers in a dry cycle during his presentation.
